The Engineering Education Scheme in England & Scotland and all other EDT schemes are members of the Royal Academy of Engineering's Best Programme.
Founded in 1976, The Royal Academy of Engineering promotes the engineering and technological welfare of the country.
The fellowship - comprising some 1200 of the UK's most eminent engineers - provides the leadership and expertise for the Academy's activities, which focus on the relationships between engineering, technology, and the quality of life.
As a national academy, The Academy provides independent and impartial advice to Government works to secure the next generation of engineers and provides a voice for Britain's engineering community.
The Royal Academy of Engineering Best Programme is a continuum of curriculum enrichment schemes in science, engineering and technology (SET) that engages with and inspires thousands of young people in schools, colleges, universities and beyond. The four EDT programmes, Go4SET, Engineering Education Scheme in England & Scotland, Headstart and The Year in Industry are all members of the Royal Academy of Engineering's Best Programme.
The Best Programme provides opportunities to explore and develop an enthusiasm for SET in schools and supplies vital information for students at key decision points during their education.
